It was my plan to swim Saturday night, but didn't make it. On Sunday, I pulled it together at day's end, and decided to go swimming, leaving the house at 5:30 pm. I went to my normal swimming hole--Grossmont 24hr Fitness. I showered, put my cap and goggles on and took one step into the pool. It was likc ice. Oh my!!! I decided to go into the hot tub first to get my body temp up (which was a bad idea). The pool seemed even colder after doing that. I sucked it up and went for it--plunging in and taking off to do my laps. I got used to the temp after about two-three lengths. I swam the now usual mile (66 lengths) and it felt great. I'll not be swimming again until Thursday night with Esther, as I have another commitment on Tuesday. I sure hope they will have fixed the pool heater by then--brrrrrrrrr.
Monday--Didn't end up getting to bed until 11:30 pm Sunday night :( --but got up at 4:00 am anyway. I'll pretty much fade away later on today. On the elliptical, it took a while for the "wheels to get greased" (referring to my hip), then I was up to speed, doing my usual 20 minutes. The rest of my workout was pretty routine. Sometimes it's tough making it to the gym, but I'm always glad afterwards. :)
OK--so I walked at noontime today. It was an absolutely gorgeous day walking by San Diego bay--quite hot, actually, for a day in January. I started walking with my usual limp, but I'd say that I was walking at a pretty good clip by--oh, probably the 3rd song on my MP3 player. All good.
